On the first Saturday of April, in honor of April Fool's Day and the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826), famous for his book Physiologie du goût, we gather to display, marvel, vote, and partake in edible books made by our friends and customers.

2024 Announcement

After 2 decades (3 years of virtual-only), our run of the annual Edible Books Festival has come to its end. It was a great ride, and we made lots of friends over the years, even lasted about twice as long as the originator of the event! It's safe to say the pandemic killed it (crowded communal buffet?), but we'll miss the celebration, and your inspired creations, and we thank you for the fabulous memories! Keep on creating book-inspired masterpieces out of food for your own enjoyment and amusement!

Thank you for your support.

The International Edible Books Festival started in 2000. Loganberry Books and Strong Bindery first sponsored the Cleveland event in 2004, went virtual in 2020, and closed for good in 2024.

Event Guidelines: Everyone is invited to come see the edible creations! Booklovers, bookbinders, cooks, and craftspeople of all ages are invited to create something book related, making sure all parts are edible. You can create something that looks like a book, or a scene from a book, or a recipe or snack mentioned in a book. Food puns on book titles are also fun. However you interpret the idea of Edible Books, as long as all parts are made out of food, is acceptable. Actual books displayed with the edible entry are also encouraged.
