Bella DeRose, Zelda Thayer-Hansen, and Chloe Sampson

Bella DeRose, Chloe Sampson, and Zelda Thayer-Hansen are each entering their thesis year in the undergraduate Sculpture and Expanded Practice program at Ohio University.

Malleable Rigidities: Revelations Through Self-Portrait is a collaborative show discussing how research and experiment-based practices with metal, fiber, mixed-media collage, found object, and print media unite to reveal the possibilities of material transformation, collaborative discovery, and flow within the apparent inflexibilities of each of their lives.

Douglas Manry, Narrative Magic

I first became hooked on drawing when, as a child, I felt the need to capture whatever interested me on paper. Over time this became an obsession, and if reality didn't supply enough material, I resorted to inventing some. This same cycle has followed me to adulthood. My motto is "if something needs attention, I can do it through my art." 
 

Altered Book Group, Circles and Cycles

The Altered Book Group is a local book-artist organization. These artists twist, cut, and bend books to make visual art out of literary art. Six women artists meet monthly to share their work and exchange ideas. They are committed to the individual exploration of the book as art. As altered book artists, they transform the original content or structure of books into unique, purposeful or whimsical expressions using a variety of materials and techniques such as collage, assemblage, stitching, painting, printing, and sketching, often pushing the boundaries of the book as a recognizable object.
 
The Altered Book Group is comprised of local artists Jane Berger, Phyllis Brody, Gene Epstein, Amy Jacobs, Pat Pitingolo, and Anne Weissman.

Janet Century, Beauty & Luminosity

Janet Century is a full-time photographer based in Cleveland, Ohio. She specializes in taking the best photographs you've ever seen, with emphasis on portraits, outdoor lifestyle, landscapes, and travel imagery and storytelling.

This exhibition presents, for the first time, a series of photos of women in their ninth month of pregnancy. Intimate and poignant, these images make visible an aspect of motherhood that is usually hidden from public view.
