Learn how to turn your ideas on the page into vivid, dynamic and ‘actor-friendly’ writing for the stage.  Discover your own unique voice as a playwright in a small, supportive workshop setting.  This class is geared towards beginning adult  playwrights, but all levels of experience are welcome. Anne Weissman & friends: Tin Hearts Transformed Opening Reception: Thursday, February 4, 6-8pm ~ first Thursdays ~   Picture an old tea  canister filled with your grandmother's collection of odd buttons, or a heart shaped red candy box stuffed with postcards and Polaroids.  Imagine what a group of artists could make from thirty empty heart shaped cookie tins!  Anne Weissman invited a group of book artists, collage makers, sculptors and potters to take tins to their studios and transform them using the materials and methods of their choice.  The resulting artworks range from the contemplative to the exuberant .  They are as individual as are the hearts and imaginations of their creators.  Show continues through March 1.                      Gene's Jazz Hot Thursday, February 11, 7-9pm ~ second Thursdays ~ Warm up to Valentine's Day with the happy swing band known as Gene's Jazz Hot. Then they recoil themselves about you, twisting you into their helix so that their story swirls about you and it's not easy to escape.   Austeniana Book Club Jane Austen:  Persuasion Thursday, February 25, 7pm ~ fourth Thursdays ~ Ah, my favorite Jane Austen novel: Persuasion.  Come join us as we discuss Anne, Elizabeth, Lady Russell, and the fascinating town of Bath.  Looking ahead, we'll discuss Northanger Abbey in March, and a spin-off novel by Paula Marantz Cohen called Jane Austen in Scarsdale in April.
