The Northeast LPO encompasses the counties of Lorain, Medina, Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula. Our mission is to defend, advance, and restore the cause of liberty to our region and our nation through the political process of building membership, obtaining relations with the media, organizing our infrastructure, and ultimately fielding and running candidates for public offices.
Our region will not be hosting a meeting for December. Our general meetings are scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of every month, but we take off for December due to the holidays. Relax, spend some time with relatives, and enjoy the holiday! See you in January!
Our regular monthly meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month, at Denny's in Parma, (398-7076) on the corner of Rockside Road (Snow Road) and Broadview Road. From I480 turn south on I77 and get off at the first exit called Rockside. Turn right or west on Rockside, continue for about 2 1/2 miles and Denny's is on the right just after crossing Snow Road. Dinner starts between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM, with the speaker starting at 7:00 PM. All of those interested in liberty are welcome.
Also our business meetings on the second Tuesday of the month are held at the same location and time, and are open to all LPO members.
Saturday & Sunday, November 7th - 8th:
The Libertarian Party of Northeast Ohio conducted an Operation
Politically Homeless booth at its fifth Conrad & Dowdell gun show for
1998. As usual, our region also conducted our petition for ballot
status in 2000. Garry Seman, operator of the LP table, had favorable
reports. A stamp fund was available for contributions, and our region
received a decent amount. Along with Garry, activists from our region
included Mike Salamone and Ron Frantz. From the East Central Region,
activists Sally & Tom Corbett attended, as usual. I must note that if
it weren't for Sally and Tom, who aren't even residents of our region,
most of our outreach events and Operation Politically Homeless booths
wouldn't have been feasible, due to lack of manpower. On behalf of the
Libertarian Party of Northeast Ohio, we salute and congratulate Sally &
Tom Corbett for their tremendous efforts towards activism in 1998.
George Baluk, or regional Chair, and Garry Seman, our regional Media Director, will appear Friday, September 22nd, on Norm Ezzi's "We the People." The show is aired on WERE 1300 AM, and it takes place every Friday from 9 AM until 11 AM. Every month, Mr. Baluk and Mr. Seman appear on Norm's radio program the Friday which takes place just before ourmonthly membership meetings (which occur on the fourth Tuesday of every month). The show is reserved once a month for local Libertarians who wish to represent the Libertarian Party, and our agenda of restoring liberty for our six counties, Ohio, and America. Be sure to tune in!
Join the Libertarian Party of Northeast Ohio on Tuesday, December 15th, for a candelight vigil in front of the steps of the Court House in Downtown Cleveland. Cleveland is one of the 50 largest major cities and metropolitan areas across America, so it is a perfect spot for such an observance. Bring your friends for this historic event in our region, along with plenty of candles, and a mind to observe this crucial Libertarian holiday. The Court House in Downtown Cleveland is located on Lakeside Avenue, just across the street from Ontario Street. The candelight vigil begins at 7 PM. For directions or other information, call our toll-free number at: 1-800-729-1980 ext. 8143, or e-mail liberty@logan.com.
Make December 15th a night for libertarians to remember!
